Ubisoft recently made it clear that it is not concerned about the negative impact of the Rainbow Six Extraction game on Siege, and regardless of the company’s confidence in its new product, it was surprisingly announced moments ago that the release of the cooperative shooter was postponed to early next year.
Rainbow Six Extraction was supposed to be released | Relief in September 2021, before the French publisher surprised us with a brief announcement on the official game page on the social networking site Twitter, announcing the postponement of the release date for January 2022, without specifying a final release date, pending what will be revealed in the coming period.
Ubisoft’s statement regarding the postponement reads:
We’re delaying the release of Rainbow Six Extraction until January 2022. We’ll take this time to make sure we bring this exciting immersive and collaborative experience to life, as we prepare to bring you a truly unique Rainbow Six.
The publisher did not explain the main reason for the delay, but the development process often needs a longer period to properly release, which is something Siege players understand in particular, especially since the game suffered from sporadic problems at the time of its launch that affected its spread negatively before it was fixed later.
Developed by the dedicated team at Ubisoft Montreal, the game takes place several years in the future in the Rainbow Six universe. As Rainbow agents encounter a new, highly lethal strain of mutated alien parasites that infect human hosts and their surroundings.
