It wisely called on Russia to abide by its international obligations, including the right to adequate health care for Vladimir Kara-Murza.

The British Foreign Secretary confirmed the UK’s continued support and call for the immediate release of Kara Murza.

Kara Murza was arrested and imprisoned by Russian authorities in April 2022 and convicted of politically motivated charges including disinformation about the work of the Russian Armed Forces, unnecessary organization and treason, and was sentenced today to 25 years in prison. Prison in Russia.

For its part, the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office today summoned the Russian Ambassador to London, Andrey Galin, to clarify that the United Kingdom considers Kara Murza’s conviction to be a violation of Russia’s international human rights obligations, including the right to a fair trial.
