U.K. stocks ended higher on Friday, with gains in the Auto & Parts, Industrial Transportation and General Retail sectors leading the gains.
At the close in London, the Investing.com Britain 100 rose 0.53%, hitting a one-month high.
Britain’s 100 stocks stand out among today’s leading stocks on Investing.com next PLC (LON:NXT), which was up 3.47% or 192.00 points to trade at 5,732.00 at the close. Rather, stocks Phoenix Group Holdings PLC (LON:PHNX) traded up 3.33% or 19.20 points to end at 596.00. United Applications Group plc (LON:UU) gained 3.32% or 33.00 points to trade at 1,026.00 at the end of the session.
Among the worst performers of the day, Tui AG (LON:TUIT) declined 1.96% or 2.85 points to trade at 142.45 at the close. Arrow Prudential PLC (LON:PRU) traded down 1.91% or 19.00 points to 978.60. Smiths Group PLC (LON:SMIN) traded down 1.35% or 21.50 points to end at 1,575.00.
Gainers outnumbered the number of stocks that closed lower in trade with 1097 compared to 702 on the London Stock Exchange, while 490 were unchanged.
Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.54%, or 9.50%, to settle at $1,753.50 an ounce. In other commodities trading, WTI crude futures for December delivery fell 3.44% or 2.81 points to settle at $78.83 a barrel, while Brent oil futures for January were down 3.29% or 2.95 points. It ended at $86.83 per barrel.
The GBP/USD pair maintained its stability by 0.16% and traded at 1.19 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged at 0.44% and reached 0.87 levels.
Dollar index futures gained 0.23% to trade at 106.83.
