The best performers of the day were Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON: ), which rose 4.44% or 48.00 points to trade at 1,128.50. On the other hand, share Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON: ) was up 4.41% or 55.50 points to end at 1,313.00. B&M European Value Retail SA (LON: ) which was up 4.40% or 15.70 points at 372.70 at the end of the session.
On weak performance at the end of today’s trade, DCC plc (LON: ) lost 8.23% or 407.00 points to trade at 4,537.00 at the close. Arrow Date fruit PLC (LON: ) traded down 5.22% or 69.00 points to end at 1,254.00. Bp PLC ( LON: ) closed up 3.21% or 16.10 points at 485.70.
The number of gainers was unchanged at 458 compared to 678 on the London Stock Exchange with 1148 closing lower in trade.
Shares of DCC plc (LON:) fell to a 52-week low and lost 8.23% or 407.00 points to 4,537.00.
Gold futures for December delivery rose 2.34%, or 39.35, to settle at $1,719.85 an ounce. In other commodities trading, WTI crude oil futures for December delivery fell 1.68% or 1.54 to settle at $90.25 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for January settled down 1.33% or 1.30 points. $96.62 a barrel.
The GBP/USD pair added 0.62% to trade at 1.16 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged at 0.19% to reach 0.87 levels.
Dollar index contracts traded at 109.26, down 0.66%.
