Investing.com – UK stocks were lower at the close on Wednesday, as indicators were lower.
It ended trading in London down 0.47%.
The best performers of the day were Shell plc (LON: ), which rose 1.73% or 40.50 points to trade at 2,378.50 at the close. On the other hand, share Auto Trader Group Plc (LON: ) traded up 1.61% or 8.60 points to end at 544.40 while the stock Bp PLC (LON: ) added 1.25% or 5.70 points to 460.20 at the end of the session.
At the end of today’s trade, the stock closed on weak performance Ocado group PLC (LON: ) declined 10.04% or 50.90 points to trade at 456.10 at the close. Arrow next PLC (LON: ) traded down 5.33% or 268.00 points to end at 4,762.00. ITV PLC ( LON: ) was up 4.96% or 3.06 points to end at 58.60.
Lows outnumbered highs with 1279 traded compared to 535 on the London Stock Exchange, while 461 were unchanged.
Shares of Ocado Group PLC (LON: ) fell to a 3-year low and fell 10.04% or 50.90 points to trade at 456.10.
Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.64%, or 11.10, to settle at $1,719.40 an ounce. In other commodities trading, WTI crude futures for November delivery rose 1.62%, or 1.40 points, to settle at $87.92 a barrel, while the December Brent crude futures contract rose 1.82%, or 1.67 points, to settle at $93.47 a barrel.
The GBP/USD pair lost 1.39% to trade at 1.13 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged at 0.32% to reach 0.87 levels.
Dollar index contracts traded up 1.14% at 111.23.
