Shares in the UK fell on Tuesday, while indices fell, and losses were recorded in the beverages, fixed tax and insurance sectors.
At the end of London, Investing.com UK 100 lost 0.16%.
Investing.com The biggest gainer of the day in the UK 100 was Smith & Nephew PLC (LON: SN), which rose 3.31% or 39.50 points to trade at 1,234.00. On the other hand, Ferguson PLC (LON: FERG) ended 2.30% or 230.00 points higher at 10,250.00, while Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON: RR) gained 2.22% or 2.07 points to 95.50.
Stocks closed with weak performance at the end of today’s trading Interim Capital Group PLC (LON: ICP) traded 4.55% or 77.00 points lower at 1,614.50. Arrow ITV PLC (LON: ITV) fell 3.61%, or 2.78 points, to 74.24. Information PLC (LON: INF) closed at 3.37% or 20.80 points at 597.40.
When trading with 1095 on the London Stock Exchange compared to 812, the number of declines was higher than the number of shares that remained unchanged at 462.
Gold futures for June delivery ended 1.36%, or 26.95, at $ 1,959.45 an ounce. Among other items, WTI crude futures for June delivery fell 4.95% or 5.33 to $ 102.28 a barrel, and for Brent Oil, the June contract fell 5.08% or 5.75 points. $ 107.41 a barrel.
The GBP / USD pair maintained the 0.04% level and traded at 1.30, while the EUR / GBP pair remained unchanged at 0.21% at 0.83.
The dollar index traded 0.12% higher at 100.89.
