Investing.com BAE Systems PLC (LON: BAES) was the biggest gainer of the day in the UK 100, rising 2.94% or 22.20 points to trade at 778.20. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON: RR), on the other hand, rose 2.35% or 2.04 points to close at 88.73. Centrica The PLC (LON: CNA) session ended 1.72% or 1.36 points higher at 80.54.
Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON: FLTRF) ended 4.90% or 478.00 points higher at 9,282.00, with weak performance at the close of the day. Arrow National Phase PLC (LON: NG) fell 4.27% or 50.00 points to 1,121.00. James Place PLC (LON: SJP) closed 3.59% or 46.50 points at 1,247.50.
When trading with 1059 on the London Stock Exchange compared to 729, 501 had a higher number of declines than the number of shares that remained unchanged.
Shares of PAE Systems PLC (LON: BAES) were at an all-time high of 2.84% or 22.20 points at 778.20.
Gold futures for August delivery rose 0.21% or 3.80 to $ 1,852.20 an ounce. For other commodities, WTI crude for July delivery rose 2.05% or 2.35 points to $ 117.02 a barrel, while August for Brent oil rose 2.00% or 2.31 points to $ 117.91 a barrel.
The GBP / USD pair lost 0.95% to trade at 1.25, while the EUR / GBP pair remained unchanged at 0.15% at 0.85.
The dollar index traded 0.83% higher at 102.61.
