“Very happy”… Pique breaks silence about his separation from Shakira

Former Spanish football star Gerard Pique broke his silence regarding his separation from the famous singer Shakira, and talked about how he sought to protect their children after that, according to the Independent newspaper.
Pique spoke about his ex-partner and their two children (10-year-old Milan and 8-year-old Sasha) during an interview with a Spanish newspaper. The player discussed why he did not publicly address the breakup after it came to light in June 2022.
“Everyone has a responsibility to try to do what is best for their children,” he said. “It is about protecting them. This is the job of all parents with children. This is what I focus on and this is my job as a father.”
Last month, Shakira also opened up about finding her strength again after ending their 11-year relationship. During one of the interviews, she indicated that she was focusing on herself, just weeks after Pique posted a photo via “Instagram” with his new girlfriend, Clara Xia Marty.
“I’ve always been very emotionally dependent (on men) – I have to admit,” the artist explained. I was in love with love… One way or another, I was able to learn from another perspective and feel like I would be fine on my own.”
And she continued, “When a woman has to face hardships in life, she comes out stronger. When she gets stronger, that means she learns to recognize and accept weaknesses.”
Like Pique, the singer has been prioritizing the two children since the split, as she said she now feels complete with her two sons.
And she reported, “I feel complete; Because I feel I can count on myself and I have two children who depend on me… I have to be stronger than Assad.”
Elsewhere in his interview, Pique indicated that he is “very happy” with his personal life, and is at a stage where he continues to do the things he wants.
He explained, “The day I die, I will look back and hope that I always did what I wanted. I aspire to be loyal to myself… I will not spend money trying to clean up my image.”
He went on to praise the people who “love him and care about him” and how “important” they are to him.
He continued, “I spend my energy with my loved ones and giving them what I have. I’m very happy. There have been changes in my life and I know how to maintain happiness.
Last month, Pique also spoke about his new relationship for the first time, revealing that Marte helped him build his wardrobe. He continued, “The truth is that I go with my girlfriend to the stores, and she buys clothes for me.”
