The Emirates News Agency “WAM” participated in the 21st meeting of officials of news agencies in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held today through visual communication techniques, with the participation of officials of Gulf news agencies and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Countries.
The 21st meeting discussed the decisions and directives of the Supreme Council at the 41st and 42nd summits, in addition to the proposal of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to develop a five-year plan for the years 2023 to 2027 to determine the paths and priorities for joint action during the coming period, including cooperation initiatives between the GCC states in the field of news agencies, provided that they are presented to the The next meeting of the information ministers of the GCC states for adoption.
The meeting touched upon many proposals and recommendations aimed at charting the future of joint Gulf media work in the field of news agencies, thus contributing to enhancing media cooperation and exchanging experiences in accordance with the latest international practices in the field of news agencies’ work.
During the meeting, Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, stressed the importance of strengthening the joint Gulf media work to contribute to advancing the sustainable development process and enhancing community awareness through media content characterized by sobriety, credibility, reliability and development, especially in light of the rapid changes and developments that the media sector is witnessing at the level of the scientist.
He called on the attendees to participate in the activities of the World Media Congress, which will be held during the period from 15 to 17 November in the capital Abu Dhabi, and to benefit from the global media presence in this important international event, which would contribute to shaping the future of global media because of its positive effects on various sectors, especially economic and knowledge, in addition to strengthening international media cooperation.
