Nice’s match against its guest Marseille was stopped in the second half on Sunday, in the French Football League, after a quarrel between Marseille players and the home fans who stormed the field.
Nice fans threw water bottles at Marseille’s Dimitri Payet when he was on his way to take a corner kick, and the visiting team’s striker responded by throwing a water bottle at the fans before the fans stormed the field.

The players left the field and the match was stopped for more than an hour before Nice president Jean-Pierre Revere asked his fans to calm down and the Nice players returned to warm up on the field.
But Marseille refused to complete the match, and the French daily L’Equipe reported that the Marseille players, Mathieu El Guendouzi and Luan Peres, had suffered an injury in the fight.
Nice was ahead with a goal when play stopped a quarter of an hour before the end, as Swedish striker Kasper Dolberg scored the home’s goal in the 49th minute of the match.
