Saudi Princess Haifa Bint Mohammed Al Saud has revealed the details of her meeting with Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi, the legend of Argentina and Barcelona.
Messi paid a surprise, unannounced visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last Monday, while Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Ghadib later announced that the Argentine player would be arriving as an ambassador for Saudi tourism.
For her part, Princess Haifa Bint Mohammed hosted Lionel Messi, Deputy Minister of Tourism for Strategy and Investment.
Haifa wrote on his official account on the social networking site “Twitter”: “Today, I toured the historic Jetta with Messi and his friends.”
He also continued his tweet, which he published in Arabic and English: “Highlights of history, art and detail made a special impression on our guests. Jetta and its people captured the hearts of its visitors at first sight.”
The Saudi princess revealed that Messi was impressed by the essence, tradition and beauty of the historic Jeddah: “I look forward to welcoming him, his family and his friends soon.”
Who is Princess Haifa Bint Muhammad Al Saud?
Princess Haifa Bint Mohammed has been chairing the Women’s Committee in the Saudi Federation for the competition since September 2017 and has been the Deputy Minister of Strategic Tourism and Investment in the Saudi Ministry of Tourism since March 2019.
He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority since January 2020, and in July 2020 he joined the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Fund.
He was elected to the first board of directors of the Tourism Development Fund in the state in 2020, along with Ehsan Bafakih, Stephen Grove, Mohammed al-Omran and Mohammed al-Hawqal.
Messi’s visit is not the first relationship between the Saudi princess and the sport, as she served as the commission’s executive director, currently in the Ministry of Sports, at the Public Sports Commission in Saudi Arabia from 2017 to 2019.
He served as Senior Adviser to the Saudi Ministry of Education from 2012 to 2016, Assistant Director of Stock Sales at HSBC Bank from 2010 to 2012, and as Bank Analyst from 2008 to 2009.
In the same context, Princess Haifa earned an MBA in Business School in the UK in 2017 and a Bachelor of Business degree in 2008 from the University of New Haven in the United States.
