According to the report, the company plans to add rounded corners for tabs in the Chromium-based Edge browser along with the Mica effect for the tab bar. As a reminder, Google Chrome also introduced rounded edges for tabs and menus after the launch of Windows 11.
The report further reveals that the new look in the tab bar can be spotted in the latest version of Edge Canary, and according to the report, the design changes are not enabled by default and users need to enable them manually by going to the Settings section.
The company also introduced a new tool called Microsoft Editor, and the new tool can be used to check and fix spelling and punctuation, and besides that, the tool offers suggestions for text improvement, and users do not have to install this feature separately because it comes built into the Edge browser, and Microsoft offers Editor also has support for more than 20 languages and across all websites that have a text field that doesn’t have their own built-in spell check.
Besides, the company has also introduced a new ‘Select Web’ feature tool. The tool makes it easy for users to copy text from the web, including tables. The new feature also simplifies the process of selecting rich web content such as images, tables and text, and the feature also provides a web capture option which makes it easier to take a screenshot, annotate and save the content you find on the web.
More recently, Microsoft has also added Windows 11-style overlapping scroll bars to the browser. For those who don’t know, scroll bars in Windows 11 change shape as you approach or use them.
