The minister described the talks that took place on Monday in New Delhi as fruitful and meaningful.

He added: “Today in New Delhi, fruitful and meaningful bilateral discussions were held on issues of defense cooperation with Russian Defense Minister General Sergei Shoigu.”

The Minister also emphasized that India highly values ​​its special strategic partnership with Russia.

Russia and India are currently implementing a number of bilateral projects, including work on the BrahMos group, the joint production of the fifth-generation FGFA fighter, and the production of Su-30 fighters and T-90 tanks. In March 2019, the two countries opened a factory in the Indian city of Korva for the production of Kalashnikovs.

Experts’ information indicates that the Indian Navy is now equipped with Russian-made military equipment by 80%, and the Indian Air Force – by 70%. They say that during the period of military-technical cooperation between the two countries, Russia supplied India with military equipment worth more than 65 billion dollars.
