WhatsApp is testing a feature that solves the problem of annoying calls

WABetaInfo reported that the WhatsApp instant messaging service is currently testing a new feature that allows users to mute incoming calls from unknown numbers.

And the site specialized in monitoring experimental features in the WhatsApp service had indicated earlier, when talking about the newsletters tool, which is a new feature under development, that one of the problems affecting the “Communities” feature from WhatsApp is the ability to receive messages or calls from Anyone in the community because the community creator number is visible to everyone.

And according to the “Arabic Technology Portal,” this leads to a serious problem because anyone can contact the creator of the community, even without a valid reason, regardless of whether they have permission to do so.

Fortunately, a new feature that WhatsApp is testing for Android devices will solve the problem, as it allows users to choose to mute calls from unknown numbers.

WABetaInfo published a screenshot of the feature under the title (Silence unknown callers), and WhatsApp explains it by saying: “Calls from unknown numbers will be muted. It will be displayed in the list of calls and notifications.

It is believed that this new feature may also help users reduce spam calls significantly, in recent years, spam calls have become a growing problem with scammers and their spam calls.

Spam calls can also be dangerous, as scammers may contact users to steal personal information, trick people into paying money, or providing sensitive data.

However, WhatsApp provides the option to block and report these callers, and thanks to the new feature, WhatsApp users will finally avoid receiving calls from unknown numbers by muting them, which are often associated with annoying calls.
