A workshop was held on the impact of climate change on land resources and food production, in cooperation between the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and the National Committee for Land Sciences, under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.

Dr. Muhammad Bayoumi Zahran, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, gave a lecture on the effects of climate change on sustainable development and ways to confront it, stressing the importance of cooperation between all research centers and institutes to confront climate change.

Zahran stressed the importance of holding the workshop, which witnessed a gathering of land scientists from all agricultural colleges, research centers and decision makers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as this is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and visions about problems related to climate change and find optimal solutions to them, and to suggest adaptation mechanisms to confront climate changes locally and in the Arab world. And regionally and internationally, which can be presented to the World Climate Conference 27 Cop, which will be hosted by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh next November, to emphasize the leadership of Egypt and its scholars in addressing the effects of climate change and providing innovative solutions.

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Desouky, Chairman of the Committee, stressed the importance of holding the workshop at this time, based on the keenness of the National Committee for Land Sciences to actively participate in land scientists in the Arab Republic of Egypt in agricultural decision-making and to identify the repercussions of the climate change crisis on the agricultural sector and food production, noting that The workshop deals with many topics related to the effects of climate change on sustainable development, soil health and food quality, as well as the best ways to mitigate the effects of climate change based on sound scientific foundations.
