Al-Ain coach, Ukrainian Sergei Rebrov, stressed that the Ukrainian international Andrei Yarmolenko, who moved to the ranks of the “leader” after the end of his contract with West Ham, will be a star in Al Ain and able to lead the Ukrainian national team in the benefits that await him.
Speaking to the Ukrainian newspaper “Football 24”, Rebrov downplayed the difficulties that Yarmolenko might face and what might affect the player’s future in the national team, stressing that there is no reason for concern and that the player will be able to lead the team. Al Ain club had signed the Ukrainian international, Andriy Yarmolenko (32 years old) for a period of one year until the end of the 2022-2023 season in a free transfer deal, coming from West Ham, thus becoming the first Ukrainian player in the history of Al Ain, and the contract with the player came on the recommendation of the Coach Rebrov.
In the same context, Sergey Rebrov told the Ukrainian newspaper “Sport” that Al Ain club has a clear policy in contracting players, which is not to sign a player over the age of 30, and added: “Since I arrived in Al Ain, the club has not signed an old player, The club sees the older players as lacking in motivation, I am grateful to the club’s management because they trusted Yarmolenko.”
The Ukrainian coach indicated that he spoke with his compatriot before signing and told him the strength of the competition in the Emirates League, and said: “No matter what anyone says, but for me, I think that the league here is strong, the foreign players here are mostly Brazilians and Argentines, the competition here is exciting.”
On the other hand, preparations have been completed for the team’s mission tomorrow to travel to the German city of Bad Gögeg, which is witnessing the first phase of the external camp until July 31, during which the team will play two friendly matches, while the second phase will start July 31 in the Austrian city of Jenburg, with six friendly matches, while the camp concludes Foreign Ministry on August 21, which is the date of returning to the country.
